Eyes, Eyes, Baby!!

When it comes to skin care, the first thing that pops into my head is finding the right cleanser, moisturizer, scrub, and so on. But it never really occurred to me how to take care of the eye area. So, how do we exactly do that? Is there any difference in taking care of the eyes as how we do for our skin?

Well, yes, there is a difference. The skin around our eyes is much more delicate compared to the rest of our skin. It is also prone to UV and free radical damage, that can lead to (what we fear of) fine lines and wrinkles.

If it is that delicate, it requires much needed attention and TLC from us. As we take care of our eyes, let’s do it with Dermalogica. First, let’s make sure we get rid of hard-to-erase eye makeup with Dermalogica Eye Make Up Remover. The Academy Awards bring out the most talented and beautiful people Hollywood has to offer. This year the night was full of romantic flowing dresses, sleek and sophisticated hairdos, and simple yet stunning makeup. This awards show brought it back to the timeless classics. Although the red carpet streamed with beauty here are a few of our favorites that deserve a shout out:

Amanda Seyfried kept it simple and classy. She exuded elegance from her pale pink lips to her soft smokey eye. She hearkens the 40s and makes it modern. (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) I was lucky enough to receive a facial by Liz at the Plant Beauty in Rancho Santa Margarita. The experience of her expertise was something I should have treated myself with a long time ago.The Signature Facial was one hour and fifteen minutes of pure ecstasy. The experience I had went like this: I met Liz, who was all smiles and had a very calming composure about her. She took me into her beautifully decorated room which had a bed with the sheets turned down. The sheets were not plain white; they had little rose buds on them. She had me change into a robe. Then Liz had me lay onto the bed while the soft music was playing. She explained some of the things she was doing but mostly just let me relax. She had a small chandelier hanging above us with the cord wrapped in a beautiful pink satin which added to the beauty of the room. Having your neck, shoulders, arms and hands massaged along with a facial was the ultimate. She kept asking me to relax because it was my special time. She also had a fine mist over my face while she was working. The soothing mask treatment was extraordinary and the decollete massage was a delight. I loved the hot towel treatment as she applied lotion to my hands and put gloves on to help everything penetrate. She also used hot towels for my face and hands which was exhilarating to say the least. It was the ultimate relaxation. It restored and revitalized my skin. I was shinning when I left. Liz even gave me a little gift upon my departure. When I asked Liz about her life she added:

"I was raised in the Napa Valley in a little town called St. Helena. I moved to Orange County recently to be closer to my boyfriend, Warren, who is a native of Irvine.When I moved down here, the first thing I did was explore the south Orange County area. I found myself wondering inside a store called Planed Beauty feeling an instant connection to the store, hoping they were hiring! Luckily, they were and now, I am currently the esthetician and sales associate at the Planet Beauty in Rancho Santa Margarita. I have always been interested in beauty and fashion. When I was 15, I began working at a beauty store in St. Helena, and instantly became known as the beauty guru. I continued to work at this store for about 7 years. During this time, I also graduated college, receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. After graduating, I entered the working world and realized that I missed the beauty and fashion industries. So I then worked at the department store Neiman Marcus. I loved the job, but noticed myself trying to help people with their skincare. This passion to help was fueled by my own personal experience of having suffered from acne at a very young age. It was then I realized how passionate I was for skincare.The more I worked with clients, the more I realized I wanted to further educate myself about my passion, skincare, so I went to esthetician school. During school, I found myself connecting with skincare on another level.
